Crest Capital finances new and used screen printing and decoration equipment for established apparel decorators, promotional products companies and sign shops. Financing covers $10,000 to $500,000 for equipment from a dealer, a manufacturer or another shop.
Silkscreening, or screen printing, pushes ink through a stencil on a mesh screen. A shop runs manual or automatic presses, a conveyor dryer to cure the ink, an exposure unit and washout booth to make the screens, and a flash dryer for multi-color work.
A graphic press is a flatbed screen printing press built for flat stock: it holds the screen over a vacuum table and runs a squeegee and floodbar across it to print posters, signs, decals, labels and panels, from single colors to process color work. Heat presses, which apply transfers and vinyl graphics to garments, are a different machine.
Many shops also run embroidery machines and direct-to-garment printers to offer embroidery and short digital runs beside screen printing. See embroidery equipment financing.
Before buying a used automatic press, check the indexer and print heads, the registration system, the pallets included, and the dryer's belt and heating.
